Grant to Utah to Help Create More Charter Schools
ED's Assistant Deputy Secretary for Innovation and Improvement Doug Mesecar visited Guadalupe Schools in Salt Lake City today to present an $8,533,334 Charter Schools Program grant to the Utah State Department of Education. Utah's Lt. Gov. Gary Herbert and Vice Chairman of the Utah State Board of Education Mark Cluff joined Mesecar for the announcement.

Career and Technical Education Grants
ED has awarded a total of $750,000 in grants to six states to help strengthen and enhance career and technical education (CTE) programs. Indiana, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Nebraska, Florida, and Hawaii have received grants to support partnerships that will create new CTE programs, or adopt existing ones, that will align secondary and postsecondary education courses needed to prepare students for further education and employment.

Online
(Beta Version) You can practice online using practice drill that your teacher sets up. Just click on the 'Student Tests & Practice' tab, enter you teacher's name or zip code of the school and click on the `Teacher's Practice Drills` button. You will see all the practice drills that the teacher has made available for students.
  Take a test onlines (Beta Version) You can take a test online if your teacher sets one up. Just click on the 'Student Tests & Practice' tab, enter you teacher's name or zip code of the school and click on the `Teacher's Tests` button. You will see all the tests that the teacher has made available for students.  Just click on the `Start Test` button to see the test online. Make sure that you enter your name and teacher's name at the top of the test. Then, just click on the correct answers to all of the questions. After you have answered all of the test questions, use the `Click to Submit Test for Your Score` button to have your answered scored and to the the results on your screen.

Use your own material Set up Quick entry screens let you enter problems and questions into a database for later use. The problems you enter are in your Problem Set Cabinet online and can be used for tests or practice drills. They can be multiple choice, true/false, yes/no, and fill in the blank and can include graphics.
  Build your own Tests Use Problems from your Problem Set cabinet to make a test that can be given online on the Internet or printed. Students can
take a test without you having to set up a roster.
  Online
grading 
You Online tests are graded online with the results stored in your online grade book. You can choose to be notified via email
when anyone takes your test. You can review grades and test details online. Passwords and available dates can be set by the teacher.
  Print features Easy You can choose to print a test to be given in the classroom. You can print the grade book and test detail by student or
mass print all students' test sheets. (Students can not print a test or a graded test.) You can open a test in Word from the test print screen.
  Practice
Drills
Challenge You can make your Problem Set questions available for students to do practice drills. Multiple choice, true/false, and yes/no questions will be shown on the practice drill screen for the student to answer. Each answer is compared with the correct answer and the resulting score is displayed as each answer is entered. A summary sheet is showed when the practice drill is finished so the student may print the result if desired.
  Question Pools An You can choose to include problems from the question pool. A limited number have been stored in that database at this time.
Teacher Pond (Membership) Build your own website Set up your own web site using background colors and images, clipart, customizable fonts and tables for you hompage, supplies page, biography, homework page, calendar of events, student recognition, study guides, important dates,  student recognition, parential information, and your newsletters. You can use build a web page using our templates or create your own from scratch.
  Newsletters Create newsletters for students to read online or print. They are stored in an archieve database for later viewing.
  Calendar You can set up your own private calendar of events that only you can see or set up a public calendar that students can see or both.
  Flash Cards Easy to use flash card features; create and save sets of flash cards easily then print them off on regular paper (no cutting needed) or with a simple click let students practice with them online. You can share any flash cards sets.
  WhoKnows? Challenge your class to answer questions using this game. It gets its questions from your flash card sets. Just pick the flash card set that you want to use with no additional effort.
  E-Mail An email option is available to communicate with students without having to share you personal email address if you desire. Email can only be sent to teachers electing to allow students to send them email.

Free math worksheets: We have created math worksheet generators that randomly create problems and an answer sheet. We offer theme and clipart graphics that you can choose to include at the end of the worksheet if you like. This is a feature that you find in books for sale but not on the Internet. You can choose the number of problems, regrouping or no regrouping, remainder or no remainder division, and the level of difficulty. Each time you generate a worksheet you randomly get different problems. Use these links to create as many as you like for free.
