Consequences
  • Disruptions will not be tolerated in my classroom. The following is a succession of consequences that will be carried out in class in the event of a disruption:
1. Give the student-in-question “the look.”
2. Move closer to student-in-question.
3. Take away disruptive item or verbally ask student-in-question to “stop” while still continuing with instruction.
4. Ask student-in-question to move to another seat and resume learning.
5. Ask student-in-question to go to “time-out” and complete “time-out” sheet.
6. Phone call to parent or other responsible party.
7. Administrative discipline (send student to the office).

Rewards
  • Praise- I will positively reinforce all of my students.
  • Positive Notes Home- I will write letters focusing on positive achievements within my room, to send home to the students’ parents/guardians.
  • Preferred Activity Time
  • Small group lunches in room with teacher- I will allow all of my students to have a chance to have a personal lunch with me, in small groups of about 3.
  • Calls home to parent- I will call parents home with examples of the achievements and progress their children are making; generally parents get negative calls, so this will be a great way to reinforce positives.
