Homework Policy and Procedure

This is a sample template. If you like, you can remove all text by holding down your mouse button and
dragging it over the text before clicking on the sissors icon in the toolbar above. You can change the color
of the background, add background wallpaper, insert clipart, and more by clicking on the appropriate icon
in the toolbar (review the BrainPond Demos if you are unsure of how to do this.)

Homework will be given Mondays through Thursdays of each week. It is crucial that your child completes
their homework every night as it is a practice of what we have learned in class and will help them to succeed
in the classroom. Homework will always only cover material that has already been taught and should take
an average of 30 minutes to complete. If your child appears to be struggling with their homework, please
contact me and we will discuss what we can do.

Consequences for Incomplete or Missing Assignments:
1) First incomplete assignment: Student will be addressed and asked to explain why the assignment is
not complete.
2) Second incomplete assignment: Student will be given a verbal warning and will need to finish the
assignment during recess.
3) Third incomplete assignment: Student will receive a verbal warning and will need to finish the assignment
during recess. I will call home at this point to inform you and to develop a solution so this does not occur again.

Friday Folders: I will send home a folder ever Friday which will contain all of your child’s graded work for the
week, announcements, and an evaluation of your child’s academic achievement and behavior. Please look over
the contents, sign and date the enclosed form, and have your child bring this folder back to school on Monday.

**Todays Assignment: Bring in an object that is important to you and be prepared to explain why it is
important to you and where you got it from. We will be doing an activity where everyone will be able to
share their object with the class.
