Ready for 2010 (October 29, 2010)Brainpond.com is being revised for 2010 - 2011. Please visit www.theteacherwebsite.com . Resource Links (August 02, 2008)BrainPond Search Database Status: The links in the BrainPond Search Database have been validated on this date. So, there should be no broken links or not found links in the resource database. If you discover any please notify us at webmaster@brainpond.com . There are thousands of resource links in the BrainPond database so some will no longer work over time as the resource providers remove them or go out of business. However, this should be a very small percentage of the total. Testing and Practice (July 29, 2008)New beta features: You can now set up questions in groups called Practice Sets as multiple choice, true/false, yes/no for online practice drills or for online tests. In addition you can enter fill-in-the-blank or short-answer for tests that you want to print out for class room use. There are demos/videos and FAQs to answer your questions. Drill questions and online tests will be scored online by the system with the results shown immediately online. There is a tab in the menu bar of BrainPond.com called Student Tests and Practice for your students to access any test or practice drill that you set up for them. To maintain your problem sets, print tests, view your test grade book, or perform other administration functions, just log in using your membership id and password. You will see selections that you can use for these features. If you have any problems, need help, or would like to suggest additional features, please email webmaster@brainpond.com with detailed information. There is no need to go to TheTeacherWebSite.com now that the practice and testing features have been added to BrainPond.com. Your own domain name (July 07, 2008)If you want to use your own domain name to access your brainpond.com website please email us at webmaster@brainpond.com and give us your member id and zipcode as well as the domain name that you want to use if you already have one. If you want to get one and use it we will email the simple steps to follow to do that. So now you could have your own domain name such as www.yourname.com for your students to use. Please be aware that you will need to pay for the domain just like anyone else who has a domain name of their own. TheTeacherWebSite.com (July 07, 2008)We have a new website called www.TheTeacherWebSite.com that offers new tools. You can get free math worksheets (with a clip art option like printed worksheets in books) and members have easy Practice Set creation features. These Practice Sets can be used for online practice by students or online testing by students. Tests can printed for use in the classroom or made available online for students to take for immediate grading by the system for the student to see the results. Grades are stored in the teacher's online grade book for easy viewing (and detail drill down for information on how students answer questions). You can choose to be notified via email when a student takes a test so you do not have to manually check the grade book to keep track of the status. For this introductory time, you can use your brainpond.com userid and password to log into theteacherwebsite.com and explore its features and benefits. Your comments and suggestions on theteachewebsite.com or brainpond.com are appreciated. Our goal is to provide tools that help you and your students be successful. You may send comments using our contact link or to the webmaster@brainpond.com email address. This could be useful if you have a school website and want to link to your website from it. If you want to see an example of how to do this click here (size 452k demo) Old version of web editor (September 09, 2007)The old version of the web page editor is scheduled for removal on 9/22/07. The newer version that is streamlined (Version 2) will remain for Internet Explorer members. The version for Firefox or Netscape members will remain as well. If you need the older version for longer or if you have problems please email webmaster@brainpond.com with details. Addition and subtraction Drills (September 05, 2007)Per teacher request two new practice drills were programmed for elementary students to us. They offer a way for students to practice at school or on their own by just clicking on the selection on the www.brainpond.com home page. And they give immediate feedback to students so they do not lose interest. Automatic Photo Resizing Feature (May 16, 2007) Now when you upload photos to your website directory, the photos are resized automatically. This allows you to put more of your own personal photos or clip art online and still have good quality resolution... just what you need for your website.
